A downloadable game

Chrysopoeia is a card game about a master wizard and alchemist, Aldus, trying to win ownership of a revelatory formula that transmutes lead into gold from his apprentice, S’fugal.

Note: Due to some unforeseen delays,  we have not made as much progress as we would like and thus do not have a playable prototype.

How To Play:

Players will battle through a series of encounters, unlocking new cards after each victory and uncovering more of the lore and story as they go. In each encounter, both the player and their A.I. opponent will have their Rune count increased by one per turn, up to a total of ten runes. These runes are spent on cards, which are divided into several types. Plant and Fungi types which grow over multiple turns to supply a long-lasting effect. Creature cards, which are the main method by which the player will attack and defend themselves. Spell cards are instantly used and are as powerful as they are expensive. This card type is not placed on the board like all others, because of its instant use time and it can always directly attack the enemy players' health pool.

The final card type is the Player Card, which serves as a target to attack and which holds the health pool of a player, which if it reaches zero means that player loses the match.

In every turn the active player can do multiple things, in that order: The player draws a card and recieves their runes, is then allowed to place as many cards as they want, and can then attack with as many cards as they want. The player card of the opponent may only be attacked, once there are no other cards left on that player's side of the board. For this reason, there also is no attacking on the first turn.
